Factions PvP NOOBIE question - Guild Wars Forums

My main is a rit/Ne on factions who just recently reached lvl 20. Since I am now lvl 20 I decided to earn some faction by fighting for the good ol' Luxons. So I know how tod do that fine, but I don't know what the Luxon faction is good for. Someone told me I use it to earn Jade which in turn lets me buy Luxon armor. Is this true? If so, could someone expand on this and tell me a little more about what Luxon factions good for? Thx for answering a noobie question!

Yea, that is one way to spend your Luxon faction. There are other ways too. One way is to up your alliance's reputation with the Luxons. If you can enough (upwards of 1mil though) your alliance can own a town, which I won't get into here. It takes 5,000 faction to do this, so you can fill up and donate twice. Also, you can spend 3,000 faction on Luxon PvE only skills. However, you must have the "Luxon Supporter" title before they will actually sell them to you. Lastly, you can spend 1,000 faction on a passage scroll to the elite mission "The Deep". Oh, and the Jade costs 1,000 faction each, thought I would mention that.

There are a few ways to use Luxon faction. Talk to the Luxon Scavenger in Cavalon to see all of your options, though I'll summarise them here:

Trading in 1000 Luxon faction can get you one jadeite shard (commonly referred to in-game as jade). All Luxon armor needs a certain amount of jade to be crafted; 24 jade is needed for a full set of regular Luxon armor and 80 jade is required for a full set of Elite Luxon armor. If you are part of a guild that is aligned with the Luxons, doing this will also add 1000 points towards your Luxon Allegiance title track.

Trading in 1000 Luxon faction can also get you one passage scroll to The Deep, the Luxon's elite mission. Double-click on this item while you're in Cavalon and you will be transported to the staging area for The Deep; this will let you access this area even if your alliance doesn't control Cavalon. Trading your faction in for one of these will also add 1000 points towards your Luxon Allegiance title track if your guild is aligned with the Luxons.

Trading in 3000 Luxon Faction will earn you one of the PvE skills that the Luxons offer, although you may only do this is your guild is aligned with the Luxons and you have at least rank 1 of the Luxon Allegiance title track, which requires you to have transferred 100,000 Luxon faction through your alliance. This will take quite a bit of work on your part to be able to do, but the PvE skills are quite useful in general, and will continue to power up as you gain higher ranks of the Allegiance titles.

And finally, trading in 5000 Luxon faction will allow you to raise your alliance's ranking with the Luxons (though naturally, your guild must be aligned with the Luxons to do this). This will add 5000 points towards your alliance's total (if your alliance gathers enough faction in this way, they can gain control of one of the towns or outposts on the map and gain access to a special area in the outpost that offers a special discount merchant and a fireworks master). Doing this will also add 10,000 points towards your Luxon Allegiance title track, making this the best way to go if you want the PvE skills.

Thanks a lot! I kind of get it now...although I don't know where Cavalon is or what titles are.....guess I really am a noob.

Cavalon is the Luxon capital. And don't worry if you don't know where it is; the storyline will lead you there in due time.

After you finish the Sunjiang District mission (mission 8), you can pick up the "Journey to Cavalon" quest from Jamei in Maatu Keep (which, coincidentally, is the outpost you land in after finishing that mission). This will lead you into Cavalon.
